Hung in the lower gallery of the Contemporary Art Center, Zonta club of Cincinnati will hold their third annual exhibition highlighting awareness of gender-based violence through the healing power of art.  I am honored to be exhibiting in this exhibition. My work begins with passages from my personal diary, but the letters themselves are never meant to be read. As I write, the letters overlap and intersect, forming abstract shapes that I translate into vibrant, layered colors. In the finished painting, the original text is entirely obscured—what remains is a visual echo of the diary, a structure transformed into shape and color. Through this process, the work becomes something beyond words, a meditation on memory, emotion, and the act of creation itself. This series is titled Seeing Red.
